Local Parish News
Keeping you informed of what your Council is doing throughout Framwellgate Moor Parish.
Supporting local causes and ensuring the daily standard of life in our parish is always our first consideration, we have been a major part of many parish projects over the years.
Memorial Garden
The Memorial Garden Project began with a community survey, where residents asked for more seating, a Christmas tree, and a tribute to the miners who lost their lives in the local coal mines. Alongside enhancements to the War Memorial, names of local World War I heroes and 62 miners who gave their lives underground are now honoured in the garden.
Parks
The King George V site is at the heart of our community, providing something for everyone. Next to the Pavilion and bowling green you’ll find our free-to-use Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), a bookable tennis court, and the King George V playing field, perfect for a kickabout. Children can enjoy the bright, modern play park while adults make the most of the outdoor gym or relax at the picnic tables.
The Pavilion is a welcoming community hub, recently refurbished and available for meetings, events, or group activities. It’s also home to the Parish Council office and meeting space.
